Ecumenical voice of positivity

Throughout the 12th Assembly meeting there has been a distinct sense of inclusion and readiness to listen and learn from others.

Assembly chaplains help ease the pain of the process

The 12th Assembly has seen some tense and trying discussion about several proposals, but particularly in consideration of the historic new preamble to the Constitution, which acknowledges the First Peoples of Australia and the troubled history of their past in relation to the Christian church.

Holy spirit rains in song

“Holy Spirit Rain” is the official anthem for the 12th Assembly. The song was a collaborative effort of Uniting Church members Phil Newton and Michael Earl.

What's on today: Tuesday 21st July

Last day of Assembly

July 21, the final day of the 12th national Assembly, begins as it has every day, with worship and Bible study.

The Assembly will then move on to address outstanding business. Items scheduled include proposals relating to property, directions for the next triennium and the Assembly task group report on national conferences.

Business unfinished at noon will be referred to the Assembly Standing Committee and closing worship will then commence.
