Discussion on the Preamble continuse

Discussion on the Preamble continues. Assembly will today continue its discussion about the proposed changes to the Constitution of the Uniting Church in Australia. When the proposal was introduced on Friday 17 the significance of the Preamble, particularly in terms of the relationship between the Assembly and the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress, was recognised. Following further consideration in Community Working Groups on Saturday afternoon Assembly will revisit the proposal later today.

Beneficiary Fund report

The Beneficiary Fund, which provides benefits to retiring ministers, most notably in the form of a pension, will today give its report. Given the collapse of investment markets as a result of the Global Financial Crisis the report is of particular interest this Assembly.
